Call to Order:
- President C.
Hagloch called the meeting to order at 4:30pm.
Approval
of Minutes:
- Minutes of the
July 15, 2008 meeting were approved as corrected and will be posted
on the website..
Treasurer’s
Report:
- The Treasurer's
report was distributed and presented by R. Liu. Questions were asked
and answered. R. Liu will place a specified amount in a 6 month CD.
J. Allin requested that the Treasurer's Report be put in 2009 Quickbooks
- request approved. D. Ashley doubled checked deposits against Treasurer's
Report and found report to be accurate.
Committee
Reports:
- Nominating Committee
- D. Andrew proposed reducing the number of Board members from 21
to 18. This move will require a change in the By-laws. Discussion
was held. A motion to approve 18 members was made, seconded and unanimously
approved. D. Andrews will present for final approval at the general
membership at the annual meeting in November 2008.
- Social - C.
Hagloch reported the annual meeting will be held at the Outrigger
Canoe Club on Monday, November 17, 2008. Price is $25 per adult and
$17 per child. Menu is buffet. Speaker will be Noelle Kahanu from
Bishop Museum.
- Newsletter -
J. Allin reported the deadline for the newsletter articles is this
weekend. J. Allin is looking for new newsletter chair.
- Membership Dues
- D. Ashley reported there are 501 WIRCA households who are members
and continue to pay their dues. D. Ashley asked that the WIRCA address
be posted on the website.
- Security
– M. Bianco reported security officers continue to patrol. Important
security notices are sent out to dues paying members.
- Database – C.
Hagloch reported she has hired a person to enter information to the
database. Gerrit Osborne has volunteered his time to set up a new
database in Access. C. Hagloch will discuss further with G. Osborne
and report back to the Board.
- Information Dissemination
– H. MacNeil reported she had 7 inquires for view channel information
for increments III & IV. When there are questions related to view
channels, she is encouraging neighbors to work with each other to
resolve their property issues.
- Streets and Sidewalks
– L. Iwata will check on reported vegetation covering sidewalk. Would
like to have sidewalk ordinance link on the website. L.Iwata plans
to submit a newsletter article.
- Zone Captains
– C. Hagloch reported that Zone #15 has a new Zone Captain, Sylvia
Makk.
- Public Affairs
and Liaison to Neighborhood Board – M. Schnieder reported the
concern of garbage under the freeway. Suggestion was made to contact
government representatives.
- Temporary Committees:
- Parks - Reminder
the compost and ricks in the parks are not to be removed.
- Slow Down
signs - Board volunteers needed. S. Camaras holds signs periodically.
J. Fadrowsky and N. Sparks volunteered.
- Cleaning
Up Properties - Chair J. Wright continues to pursue.
- Decals - No.

- Web Page - J.
Fadrowsky to fulfill request to place WIRCA address on the webpage.
- By-laws and Parliamentary
Procedure - No report.
- Traffic Calming
- M. Bianco continues to have guards move the security alert and "Slow
Down" signs.
